SaveRip has grown a lot over the past months, and free access to it is something we genuinely believe in. This page explains a change we made to keep that free access fair for everyone who uses it.
Our free plan gives every visitor a small number of downloads every few hours, tracked by IP address. It's meant to let anyone try SaveRip without creating an account.
As we grew, we started seeing the same pattern repeated: someone connects through a VPN, uses up their free downloads, switches to a different VPN server to get a new IP address, and reloads the page for another full set of downloads — sometimes within minutes, over and over.
That stopped being an edge case a while ago. It's common enough now to affect the experience of everyone else sharing the free plan with us.
We now check whether a request is coming from a known VPN, proxy, or hosting-provider IP address. If it is, the free download limit for that request is lowered — instead of the standard free-plan limit, you get one free download before the usual reset window applies.
This isn't a permanent ban and it isn't personal. It's an automated check based on the IP address, and it resets the same way the rest of the free plan does.
If you're on a VPN for privacy reasons — which is completely reasonable — you can still use SaveRip. You'll just have fewer free downloads available at a time.
This limit doesn't apply to Pro subscriptions. On Pro, your downloads are unlimited regardless of the IP address you connect from.
If you think this was applied to you by mistake, let us know.
